Satan Hates the Catholic Church
Satan is believed to hate the Catholic Church more than any other because it possesses unique spiritual authority, particularly through the sacramentals and rites of exorcism that directly confront and expel demonic forces. Catholic exorcists, such as Father Gabriele Amorth—former Chief Exorcist of Rome—testify that demons frequently express hatred and fear of the Church, the Virgin Mary, the Eucharist, and the Pope during exorcisms. In his book An Exorcist Tells His Story, Amorth recounts instances where demons screamed at the sight of a consecrated host or reacted violently when prayers were said in Latin, emphasizing the power and divine authority the Church holds. These manifestations are cited by many Catholic theologians as evidence that the Church, being the original and authoritative body founded by Christ, is the greatest obstacle to Satan’s influence on Earth. Such testimonies reinforce the belief that the Catholic Church’s sacramental life and apostolic authority make it uniquely targeted by the forces of evil.
